The Imperial Japanese Tobacco Company was founded in 1898 and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) in 1999. JT have a market share of about 8.4% (circa 2015), making it the world’s fifth-largest tobacco corporation.
